This past Sunday I taught a lesson from 'The teachings of our presidents" George A. Smith. All the lessons written in this book is from the perspective of president George A. Smith. As a teacher I always find myself saying that the lessons I prepare and teach in the end was meant for "ME" because it always seems to be that way and this lesson was no different. It was a testimony builder for me. I am that much more grateful for our prophet Joseph smith for accepting and fulling his calling faithfully and willingly when the Lord called him. It was not a mistake that the Lord chose a 14year old boy to reveal many truths so that we could enjoy the blessing of this restored Gospel. The lesson I learned the most from this lesson is just like our prophet Joseph Smith, David (and Goliath), Nephi, Noah....they were chosen to fulfill big tasks so the lords work could be brought to past. The Lord does not look at how rich you are, how smart you are, how old you are or anything other than, If he needs his work to be done, he will call you!! Our job is to accept that calling . Weather our callings in the church may be small or big, weather you feel unqualified or not lets look to the examples that these men were to us, just do it... know that "By small and simple things are GREAT thing brought to pass"....Alma 37:6

Playing catch up
Teuila's Potty Training:
She has been doing super great on her potty training....she lets us know when she wants to go toilet. She's taken herself to the restroom once without our help that was surprising... Shes had a few accident when shes watching cartoon(in the a zone) but other than that she goes to the Bathroom when she needs to. She still sleeping with a pullup but, hopefully we can get her off that soon...We useto give her a treat (fruit leather) everytime she went potty but, now she dosent ask for it so we don't wanna push the whole treat thing if she dosen't want it. lol...so proud of her. Teuila is talking more and more...we cant understand everything but, we can pretty much figure it out. She loves watching "Yo Gaba Gaba' on Tv a children show...she loves nursery!!!
Malia:
At school shes been getting all 4's except one 3 for being chatty but she improved this week and got all 4's. Her class performed at their assembly where they sang a song called "respect" respect yourself, respect your school, respect others...very cute song, she wrote her part to say...she had to pick something that she could respect and draw a picture and she chose "Respect the school and others by walking quietly in the halls" Malia has lost another 2 of her teeth and tooth fairy came twice this week...Her class recently had 100th day of school activity where they made hats, played games, trailmix of 10 different things adding up to 100...so fun!!! On Valentines day she enjoyed giving her cards and goodies to her classmates.. Malia reading 2nd level reading and has 1st grade math homework...eventhough she is kindergarten. She loves school
Eliza:
Was chosen as the main girl in her school play. She had lots of parts to memorize but did it very well. Eliza loves to write notes..and is doing very well in sounding her words out and then writing long love letters to her mom and dad, grandma and papa and teachers. Her drawing is so detailed, Im going to havetto post some of it sometime. Eliza is also reading any book she finds, dosent matter what level, she loves learning. She also gets first grade math homework. She loves the challenge. Eliza has two teeth that are loose...but not out yet...she loves school. Elizas class also had 100th day of school activities. Most of her activities were similar to her sisters. She loved it.For valentines she got chocolates from daddy and princess castle for her and her sister (which I got for free from a rebate) but they dont have to know that..lol
Pa'a:
Working on his 6th screenplay. He is 2nd counselor in the Young men and is over scouts, But has no idea what to do...lol he loves teaching the young men on sundays. Still working as with one client. Pa'a is awesome Daddy, husband and son....on his weeks off he allows me to sleep while he gets up wakes the girls up for school, makes them breakfast, combs and makes their hair, and drives them to school. Then when they get back from school, he helps them with their homework, plays with them and spends time with them, feed them dinner and reads them a book and sings them a lullaby before they go to sleep. Ok so now on to my little Teuila, when paa is done taking the girls to school at 8:00am in the morning he comes home, my little one is up so he changes her diaper and clothes and plays with her until she is ready to eat, then he makes breakfast for his dad takes it out to his office comes in feeds teuila and then waits till I wake up and asks me what I would like for breakfast. But it doesnt end there, he makes lunch and dinner everyday that he is home...Im so spoiled...(on a side note i take advantage cause on the weeks he's gone to work, I get all those responsibilities) But, on more serious note..I really am blessed with a good man, I love and appreciate him so much!!!
Me:
stay at home, teach for relief society, volunteer once a week for each of the girls classes, and blog and facebook. Working on my resume so that I could apply for a part time job..I was hoping to get an airline job so i can go see my family whenever but, we'll see.......but thats my life right now, doesnt seem like much but for some reason I feel busy everyday....lol

"Buckles and Bows" Dance

Saturday night Feb.4.2012 Pa'a and the girls had a little daddy daughter date night at the girls school dance. It was titled "Buckles & Bows". Last year it was a Luau theme and we participated in the performance of the luau.
Anyhow, the girls had so much fun with daddy swinging them up in the air and dancing the night away. The people in charge provided a free portrait with each girl and their dad and also a corsage and light refreshments. Pa'a comes from a cowboy farm working family where his dad grew up on a farm and Pa'a as a young boy along with his brothers helped on the Farm. He was a little embarrassed that he did not have the right outfit and I guess it did not help that the girls wore a sparklly pink cowgirl hat..lol(which i allowed the girls to pick out) all in all it worked outI wish all dances that my girls attend from here on out up until they graduate could be only daddy daughter. lol and pretty sure that wont be the case but if I could have one wish that would be mines..a lot of yehaww and time well spent with daddy!!!

Potty training time!!!

Ok so today is Jan.2.2012 and we decided to start potty training our little Alana-Teuila since she has been showing a few signs of wanting to go toilet on her own....not sure how it'll go cause she is a ummm..I guess you could say stubborn but we will see....My twins potty trained so easy and at 2yrs old but every child is different so if this fails we'll haft to just go with the flow....with the twins we did lots of dry food and lots of drink...so thats what we started off with... cheerios, waffles, chex cereal and lots of sobelifewater, water and water/juice..and FRUIT LEATHER for her reward when she actually goes POTTY plus her favorite books to keep her busy while we wait...lol
Day 1:
It took her 2 hours before she finally decided to pee.. but, unfortunately it was on the ground in our room(not cool) lots of resolve and scrubbing, two minutes later on the ground in the bathroom, 2 minutes after changing her 2nd panty pee again on the kitchen floor, 1 minute later pee on the ground right as we were putting on her panty, hmmm....(not really doing so well).. lets keep going 3 minutes later she starts to say No. No. NO....and pee AGAIN!!!! But this time it was half in the toilet and half right outside her potty that was a little better, I wasn't sure if we had enough Clorox wipes to sanitize the floor...uggh...well, then finally when she had to go the 6th time she said NO NO NO...and YAY!! Hallelujah she went potty and got a piece of fruit leather for going...7th attempt she said NO NO NO...so we ran her to the toilet and nothing...we did that 4 more times and then the 5th time she went to the toilet Yay!!!! then it was nap time and we decided a diaper would be best. When she woke from her nap we put her panty back on she her first potty was a #2 we were so proud of her she actually got a Bigger bite of the fruit leather as her reward...and she did well her first day.
Day2: Jan.4.2012
We potty trained Teuila in the morning but we had to run our children into town for their Dentist appointments plus we also had errands so it messed things up a little with the whole potty training. We had 3 hours of having Teuila in her Panty before we had to stick her back into her diaper so we could go into town. But when we came home she went to the toilet twice before it was bed time. She gets really distracted at times but she lets us know by saying NO NO NO...and then we run her to the toilet, it feels weird that our little one is growing up too fast, I love looking at her chubby thighs but then when I start to get sad when I see the big girl panty on her :..( so far shes been doing a great job at potty training, lets hope day three is just as good..

Crockpot gets two thumbs up!

Ok so about a year ago my father in law purchased half a cow from a friend. I know right sounded weird well at least it did to this island girl when I first was told about it. But, after a little explaining to this (duh) island girl I learned that people out here and probably all over the US get their meat by going to a butcher shop. Ok like I dont think hawaii has that, or ill be surprised if they do. So anyways, you go there and u tell them you want half a cow or a whole cow and then you tell them what type of meat cuts you want and they cut and wrap it for you. I know your all probably thinking why the heck didn't she know this? Lol well I guess because hawaii don't have farms? I don't know....so to make a long story short, we had all these meats from hamburger meat to all kinds of steaks in the freezer so I decided to look up recipes for crockpot nd low and behold there are many recipes out there. Today I cooked or T bone steak in the crock pot and it was a hit. I called it mushroom steak. I'll add pictures later...YUMO! I also made tomato sirloin steak in the crock pot and my kids loved it. Cant wait for the next crockpot meal. Yay for crockpot. Well that's all for now but, can't wait to share my ultimate favorite food to eat anytime of the day.....good day!
